Officially Recognized Subspecies – A curated list exists, with only some subspecies officially integrated into canon.
Unknown Total Number – Infinite possibilities exist, though only some are formally recognized.
Unofficial Variants – Community-created forms are welcome and may inspire future canon expansions.
Tiered Rarity – Subspecies are classified as Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Legendary based on lore significance.

Tiered Rarity

Subspecies rarity does not indicate power, but narrative weight within the lore. Each tier reflects how common or legendary a subspecies is in the historical record.

Common – Widespread and foundational to Solestial society.
Uncommon – Regional adaptations or traits shaped by specific environments.
Rare – Significant but less frequently encountered, often tied to ancient traditions.
Legendary – Extremely rare and often associated with myths, ancestral tales, or Surge Moments in history.

Development Note

Future subspecies may diverge significantly from the main form, while still embodying the species’ essence. One planned variant lacks wings but possesses chameleon-like cloaking, reflecting the adaptive nature of Solestials. Additional subspecies will be introduced over time, expanding the Codex.
